| With the deep development of the economy and society, China is playing an increasingly vital role in the world. Under such a circumstance, the translation of China’s political documents has become important and drawn more attention by the translators, because this work can help us introduce timely and correctly to the world China’s principles and policies in the political, economical and diplomatic fields. From this point of view, the author of this thesis, on the basis of Newmark’s translation notion, tries to focus on the study of C-E translation of political documents with some current materials as a case study. The author at first discusses mainly the current situation of C-E translation of political documents, trying to find a solution by offering her suggestions in translation methods and strategies. Guided by the Newmark’s translation theory, after a comparison with "Nida’s "Functional Equivalence", and "German "Skopostheories", the author advocates that the Newmark’s two translation methods, i.e, semantic translation and communicative translation will be more adaptable to the C-E political translation. After an analysis of characteristics of political documents, the author finds that it is unavoidable to be redundant in the process of C-E political translation. The paper at last puts forward some concrete translation methods from intra-linguistic and extra-linguistic perspectives. In all, the thesis tries to apply the Newmark’s translation notion to the C-E political translation, hoping it will be beneficial for the improvement of the C-E political translation. |
