Judgment of learning is a key theme in metamemory, which proposed by Arbuckle and Cuddy (1969). As a predictability judgment, JOLs can monitor individual learning activities and provide the basis for later learning. Therefore, the mechanism of JOLs and its accuracy have become the focus of attentionKoriat (1997)’s cue-utilization approach was foundational for JOLs. He proposed a taxonomy of cues and how each kind cue influenced JOLs and its accuracy. These cues were intrinsic cues, extrinsic cues and mnemonic cues. According to this cue-utilization approach, people’s JOLs are differentially sensitive to the cues. JOLs will be less sensitive to the effects of extrinsic cues than to the effects of intrinsic cues, and extrinsic cues will often be underestimated. We designed two experiments to find the conditions under which extrinsic cues will not to be underestimated. In Experiment1, we explore the migration effect of previously judgment experience. Previously judgment experience as practice, we compare the effects of different numbers of delayed-items which influence timing of the judgment and number of study-judgment trials in Experiment2, in order to find the effect of numbers of delayed-items on JOLs.The main results as follows:(1) JOLs were sensitive to the effect of previously judgment experience. There was an interaction between timing of judgment and strength of words association.(2) xtrinsic cues don’t always be underestimated. previously judgment experience as an extrinsic cue can be migrated to a certain extent which only on PA.(3) JOLs and recall results show an inverted V curve. The accuracy of JOLs was increased with the number of delayed-items.(4) The effect of the number of delayed-items on JOLs was related to the short-term memory. The number of delayed-items within the short-term memory capacity will be overestimated. JOLs showed different trends between items delayed judgment and time delayed judgment.
