Qiaonv stories are one abundant genre stories. The stories are defined as the lifestories, which show the story heroine’s intelligence in the family or the family problemas the center of circumstances. The stories are unique, which reflect a certain period ofsocial reality and psychology of the characters. The study of it is of great practical andtheoretic significance. However, seeing from the current research of folk literature, thescholar research to the Qiaonv stories basically confined to the text study or thesummarization of plot genre. It is very essential to carry on a further investigation in thegender consciousness of Qiaonv stories.This thesis based on the existing collected book of folk Qiaonv stories, carried onthe careful selection and analysis. It researched into the gender consciousness of folknarration from sociology and literary perspective. It emphatically explained the cause ofthis gender consciousness and specific performance gender consciousness Qiaonvcharacter. Eventually this thesis was formed by the author.Firstly, based on former researches and text collection, this thesis studied andanalyzed Qiaonv stories, combed out the different types of characters in Qiaonv stories,especially focused on the superiority of gender roles in the story itself.Secondly, this thesis researched into the concrete expression of genderconsciousness in narrating the story. This part will be discussed in two aspects. For onething it is an overview of how women who show androgyny personality, for anotherthing it analyzed these characteristics. Through the analysis of its content, it mainlyrevealed the social reality, the status of women in sharp contrast and the cause ofandrogyny of Qiaonv character in such social environment.Thirdly, this thesis discussed the Qiaonv character in real social environmentembodied in the female predicament and beyond their own. This part summarized asfollows: the reality and the story of female status in contradiction, the femaleconsciousness under the restriction.Finally, this thesis studied of the social gender significance in the stories andexplored the social function of female self role cognition. This part was divided into twoaspects: family relationship and marriage mode of rational thinking, femaleself-fashioning and reconstruction. In general, Qiaonv stories typically and briefly reflected long culturalcharacteristics of our country, which served as an agricultural country and a feudalcountry ruled by a long feudal dynasty. Qiaonv character of the stories contained thevarious expectations of women in populace, documenting the social sex consciousnesschange and cultural development, and inheritance of female wisdom clever spirit quality.The study on gender consciousness can deepen to the understanding of civilian women,and to promote the feminist research, so it has the positive significance.
