The English level of secondary vocational school students is relatively weak, and they fear English learning. Besides, the traditional inculcation teaching mode and the dull teaching environment also affect their English learning. It is necessary that traditional English teaching be reformed. Thanks to the rapid development of information technology in the21st century, English study has been provided with plenty of multimedia information resources. However, the information technology is just a means and it must be guided by advanced teaching methods.Task-based language instruction (TBLI) is a teaching approach developed from communicative language teaching theory which puts the fundamental ideas of language use into a practical significant classroom teaching model. It places emphasis on the development of learners’language competence, learning strategies and creative thinking. Therefore, the research aims to explore the integration of information technology into task-based vocational English learning and teaching.The first aspect of the research involves the theoretical exploration of the integration of information technology and English teaching and discusses the advantages of TBLI in vocational English. The second aspect is related to the origin of TBLI and its foundation in linguistics, psychology and pedagogy, the definition of a task and its types, and a framework of TBLI, its features, objectives, principles and assessments. Then the research discusses the English teaching methods of TBLI through information environmental. Finally, the research of task-based teaching is operated to inspect the effect.This study is conducted in a vocational school where the author works. Compared with the traditional class teaching methods, the integration teaching methods are more effective to the vocational school students. However, the research on the model doesn’t mean denying the traditional model, but learn from other’s strong points to offset my weakness to optimize the teaching.
