Music education has received increasingly higher attention as Chinese economic societycontinued booming in recent years. Music education should be centered around appreciationof the beauty, which is a requirement of the “quality-oriented education”. The Music CourseStandard of Full-time Compulsory Education also takes “music aesthetics” as the mostfundamental concept of music course. Senior normal school students majored in music standout as the main force of music culture publicity and also play an important role in this sector.Therefore, they must sharpen the music aesthetic capability to be competent for future workand contribute to development of music education business in China.The paper finds some misconceptions in piano learning of some senior normal schoolstudents through massive analysis and researches. Suck kind of condition is mainly caused bythe fact that most of senior normal school students still stay at the perceptual level in pianolearning. Furthermore, most of students have overlooked “music performance”, one of themost important points, in piano learning. The defective music performance is believed to becaused by two reasons. On one hand, many students have yet to develop perfect piano playingcapability, so they usually find it hard to be completely committed to music in musicalperformance; on the other hand, it is found through investigations that the music aestheticcapability of senior normal school students still needs to be improved as the current level ofaesthetic judgment is incapable of serving their music performance. Therefore, the thesiscarries out a discussion from the perspective of aesthetic judgment improvement.The famous pianist Anton Rubinstein once said that piano is more than a piece of musicalinstrument, it is actually an ensemble of one hundred musical instruments. Liszt also notedthat piano stands out as a kind of all-purpose instrument. All these have fully demonstratedthe fact that piano secures unmatched edges over any other kind of musical instruments.Hence, piano learning plays an irreplaceable role in improvement of music aesthetic capability.In addition, students should work initiatively to improve their own music appreciationcapability and have a good command of different styles of music works and assessment, so asto improve the musical aesthetic judgment; besides, they should better grasp the features ofpiano music in a way to facilitate piano playing.
