His hometown trilogy,"Xiao Wu","platform" and "unknown pleasures"have shaped the spatial morphology of “a small town “, A small town is a kind of spatialitybetween the country and the city, which is in the edge zone of the urbanization of China’sspecific social and historical development."The world","still life" and "twenty-four city"have reflected certain aspects of some bigger cities in their transformation process, whoselife scenes and inherent qualities are closely related to the globalization process. InZhangkeJia’s films, the country space and city space no longer exist only as a background,but an organic part in the urbanization process affected by all kinds of power. It is full ofpolitical meaning and ideology, contradictions and struggle, all the roles have their ownstories when living in the power networks, making it full of a significant characteristic of acertain social and historical period.Based on the space of hometown, land space, heterotopias, mental space a, this articletalks about the space construction and meaning of the images in ZhangkeJia’s six films.This article adopts the theories of pace politics urban sociology and heterotopias theory,text content analysis and literature survey are used as the main methodologies to study thebackgrounds and the cultural meaning of ZhangkeJia’s films. This article tries to analyzethe space culture and political meaning of the China’s cities and counties in theirtransformation process as well as the gain and loss in their urbanization process.
