The Research On Anqing’s Public Health Between1927and1937

This thesis is based the construction of Anqing’s public health between1927and1937, trying to exhibit the trials on the construction of Anqing’s modern civlization of public health in that decade. This article sums up the experiences and lessons while digging out the achievements of the sanitation construction.This thesis consist of three parts.Part one, the history evolution and disease history of Anqing City.This part starts with the Anqing’s natual environment, city evolution and epidemic disease between Ming dynasty and the first two decades of the Republic of China and aims to reveal the natural enviroment and history of the disease outbreak.Part two, sanitary inspection and summer prevention. This part centres around the aspects of the establishment of the health management regulations, the training of the health officers, the partition of the sanitary districts and the sanitary inspection, the advice on the citzens’ personal hygiene to investigate the government’s accomplishment on the soft environment construction of the health system. This part also hackles the development of the west medicine. The foundation of the west medicine hospitals prepares the fundamental medical power for citizens’health maintenance and life guard. To transact the summer prevention, the government established the summer epidemic prevention committee to take the responsibility on the summer prevention. The committee carried out a highly effective work.Part three, improve the city sanitation. Removing the temporary coffins, cleansing the rubbish dumps, building public toilets and strengthening the toilets sanitation management, all these measures cured many recurring illnesses that effected the Anqing’s city sanitaion and helped clean the city sanitation and decrease illness.The sanitation construction work of Anqing City was dominated by the government in that decade. It improved the citizen’s living environment in a manner. Anqing City took a small step in constructing the modern sanitation civilization.
