When step of epoch pass by 20th century, We are face to the tide information Blow against our faces, and along with continuously upgrade of computer hardware and software, The people surge wave upon wave expression’ s calls to three-dimensional digital city. So three-dimensional (3D) digital city to be vividly portrayed, and the spacial model data of three-dimensional already develop to a high level after pass through many years experiment and investigation. This paper analyzed and researched the 3D model date’s way of fleetly found three-dimensional modeling based on the project of "Kunming Digital City Lidar aerial survey" carried out by Kunming Institute of Surveying and Mapping. The main contents are as follows:1, It describes the status of the development of Chinese urban three-dimensional figures.2, It compares and analysises the method of getting the basic data of digital city.3, Based on the theory that three-dimensional model data can evaluate the suitability of aircraft, the theory of how to abstract and express the three-dimensional real world, subdivision of landscape, rapid modeling and massive data management, and the key technology of three-dimensional visualization, it states that the method of building fast three-dimensional modeling of laser radar technology city is based on the method to get the high resolution remote sensing imagery of city area.4, It reveals the method of measuring landscape images and getting the information.5, It builds up the processes of establishment of three-dimensional modeling and visualization of spatial information.6, It develops the effective way of quickly building three-dimensional model. And based on this, it studies the the future prospects of the application of three-dimensional digital city. Also, it practices this and has got some degree of success.
