Cervical Spondylosis (CS) is a cervical intervertebral disc tissue degeneration second ary pathological changes involving the surrounding tissue and corresponding clinical sy mptoms.According to the survey, more than30years of age population incidence rate is ab out10%,25%suffering from this disease around the age of40to50,50to70ages the incidence of more than50%.In recent years, due to lifestyle changes to make the age of onset of the disease ar e getting younger and younger, with modern social and labor groups along with the modern disease.Especially the most common CSR (Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy) accounting f or cervical disease incidence of50%to60%, a serious impact on human health.Clinical study of acupuncture treatment of cervical spondylosis, select a rule in line with the symptoms of the methods is particularly important, so it is worth our electr othermal acupunture treatment of this disease.Object:To access the therapeutic effects on electrothermal acupunture for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR) and observe the impacts or patient’s different age and duration also,to study the mechanism of electrothermal acupuncture treating disease. For clinical explore an effective, safe, easy to operate the new treatment.Method:The cases of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were randomly divided into a electrothermal acupunture group and general acupuncture group. Two groups selected the same acupoints, Main points of the Yamen, Tianzhu, three Ashi points, six DRZ-140electrothermal needle, general treatment group on the main points, general treatmen t group use Hua brand1-inch acupuncture needles.1treatment per2days,10times as1course of treatment. Patients in both groups before treatment and after three cycles (60days) symptoms, signs integral to assess the scale of the Act (20points).Results:1.The difference of therapeutic effects between two groups weren’t significant. The he aled rate(37.5%)and the significantly effective rate(50%)of electrothermal acupunture gr oup were higher than general acupuncture group. 2.The difference of improving degrees of symptoms and signs between two groups wa s significant.3. compared among the less than60years old group and over60years old group, P<0.05, so the difference was significant. After analysis we can see that the two kinds of ther apy for patients with young adults (age<60years) a significant effect on the elderly (age>60years) with poor efficacy.4. The cure rate after the X2test, compared among the groups, P<0.05description of the highest efficacy in patients with in<1year duration.Conclusions:1.electrothermal acupunture and general acupuncture both could improve the symptoms and signs of patients with CSR:The significantly effective rate of electrothermal acu punture group were higher the general acupuncture group.2. Both treatments in patients with young adults (30years<age<60years) is effectiv e, an elderly (60years<age<80years), poor efficacy, the treatment effect is the yo unger group is better.3.Both treatments the highest efficacy in patients with disease duration<1year, that is, the shorter the duration, the better efficacy.
