Social Work Intervention On Addiction Behavior Correction Of Street Children

Since the1980s, with the urbanization of developing countries and the advance of modernization process, the problem of street children has aroused people’s concern. Especially with the concept of "people-oriented" scientific development proposed, the issue of street children was paid much more attention by the government and community. The research literature on street children is very fruitful at home and abroad, whether it is from the macro relief policies, the middle-range relief patterns or micro relief methods, which are all do extensive research. But for the new era of street children problem-the problem of internet addiction is seldom. Internet addiction of street children is not only the reason of the street children out of their wandering, but also to make them wander repeatedly. This phenomenon has done great harm to children, as well as has increased some the instability and discord factors to our society. Consequently, it is essential that social work intervene on addiction behavior correction of street children.This thesis takes Internet Addiction of Street Children of Zhengzhou Street Children Protection Center for example, from social work perspective, using a combination of theory and practical methods, exerting comprehensively psychology, social work, education and other related courses to study. To begin with, addiction behavior of street children is defined. On the basis of analyzing their psychology, personality, behavior characteristics, according to emotional needs of street children, different types of Internet Addiction are concluded. And then use various methods and strategies of social work study, which mainly adopt casework, supplemented by group work. Impelling them self-consciously to abstain from internet addiction, helping them come out of the plight of the network world, making them aware of the importance of life, re-establishing their goals in life, making them return to mainstream society as soon as possible, no longer choosing stray. At the same time, referring to the problems that occur in the process of social work intervening on addiction behavior correction of street children, making the introspection and the assessment:first of all, strengthening psychological counseling, to prevent the scourge which has not yet happened; secondly, paying attention to some issues before casework and group work; thirdly, putting emphasis on parents’psychological guidance, to establish a good parent-child relationship; fourthly, insisting on the fundamental purpose of "helping others help themselves"; fifthly, choosing the intervention model according to the client’s individual; lastly, the effect assessment of service mode of social work.
