After the approval and implementation of The Beibu Gulf Economic Zone Development Planning of Guangxi by the state council in2008, a large number of large-scale projects and industrial base was constructed in an unprecedented scale and speed in the coastal areas of Beibu Gulf. In order to solve the problem of the shortage of land resources, sea-filling projects were started in a large scale in Beibu Gulf. To prevent the potential geological hazards, and to develop and construct Guangxi Beibu Gulf of economic zone, it is a valuable research to establish a geological disaster risk assessment system in Beibu Gulf.This paper is supported by the science and technology research project of Guangxi " The engineering geological hazard problem research of Beibu Gulf sea-filling in Guangxi ". According to the engineering geological conditions, the distribution of common geological disasters and disaster mechanism analysis of Beibu Gulf sea-filling study area, a assessment system of sea-filling geological disaster risk in Beibu Gulf was established in this paper based on GIS and information model. Main content of this paper is below:1、Geological disaster formation and disaster mechanism analysis of Beibu Gulf sea-filling area was studied. Then the typical project of one hundred thousand tons wharf project of TieShan Harbour sea-filling area was was studied as an example. The resaulf shows that the main factors of influencing the regional land subsidence disaster are the reclamation depth and the size of the load.2、A system of sea-filling geological disaster risk assessment in Beibu Gulf was established. With the development platform of ArcGIS Engine and Visual Studio2008, using VC++object-oriented programming language and SQL Server database to establish a system of sea-filling geological disaster risk assessment in Beibu Gulf, through the man-machine dialogue, the first, implementation of the study regional disaster information management and information query, information processing and research area of spatial analysis, secondly, by using the information model, implementation of the study regional geological hazard risk assessment, and implementation of geological disaster information and the efficient management of evaluation results.3、The established evaluation system was used for the land subsidence disaster risk assessment in one hundred thousand tons wharf of Beihai Tieshan harbour, which formed by sea-filling. Evaluation results show that the results are in good agreement with actual monitoring, worthy of further perfect, popularization and application, to achieve the ultimate goal of early warning forecast, disaster prevention and mitigation.
