GIS (Geographic Information System) is a discipline which developing with computertechnology developed since sixties of last century. After50years of development, geographicinformation system has been used in mapping, land, forestry, agriculture, geology andotherfields. Three-dimensional geographic information system, as an important branch of thegeographic information system, has also been developed in20years time and is a hot researchin the future. In addition Data as the operation object of GIS,Data obtaining and processinghave always been the key to GISThis thesis is relying on “Based on the three-dimensional geological interpretationcompetency assessment “,which is the eighth sub-topics of "12th Five-Year" National Scienceand Technology Support Program "domestic mapping satellite linear array stereo mappingkey technologies”. The Southwest of Erdos basin as study area. The structure of geology,rock type geographic information as study object.The thesis narrate the research contents ofGIS and high-resolution remote sensing satellite platform of domestic and overseas,and thekey technology of this study. According to the principle of Database Establishing,analysingand designing the database of study area. The NFGIS and ZY-3satellite images as thefoundational data, According to series of information extracting and data processing andestablishing the geographic information geological information database of the study areabased on ESRI Geodatabase mode finally. Developing two-dimensional informationmanagement system manage these Data based on the. NET platform and ArcGIS EngineEstablishing the3-D scene of the study area based Skyline TerraBuilder platform anddeveloping a three-dimensional visualization system based on TerraExplorePro. Overlying thegeographic information and geological information on the3-D scene and analysing bysynthesis for the sake of enhancing the veracity and reliability of geological interpretation.
