With the development of science and technology, GPS handheld machineproduction technology rise and of cost reduce, more and more new handheldscontinue to emerge, and the accuracy is increased continuously. Because of itssmall volume, convenient carrying, with all-weather, all-round three-dimensionalnavigation and positioning capability, high sensitivity, high precision, automation,low cost, convenient, so the handset in the surveying and mapping industry hasmore and more application.The application and development of CORS technology is increasingly mature,the conventional RTK operating accuracy and distance has been greatly improved,as the network technology, the computer network management, radiocommunication technology and other factors make progress, handheld RTKreceivers measurement technology more feasible.This paper summarizes the effects of GNSS, CORS, GPS factors ofmeasurement accuracy and handheld machine, introduces the handheld RTKmeasurement technology; comparative analysis with RTK precision; handheld RTKcompared with the conventional RTK precision analysis; handheld RTK applied todigital mapping analysis.Because handheld RTK receivers technology when compared with other measurementtechniques, it has more advantages. In digital mapping, it can meet most of the mappingrequirements, therefore, handheld RTK receivers technology application in digital mapping is atrend of development, its application to surveying and mapping industry, its benefit is obviously.
