The Aletunzhawati Region in the Sinkiang Province is a place with abundant gold mine resources. Based on the geologic background of mineralization, typical characteristics of mineral deposit, analysis on the characteristics of ETM RS images and gold mineral alteration in this region, this paper is to establish a multi-resourced geologic information database used for the prediction of mineralization in the region. With this database, combined with the GIS function of Spatial Analysis, the paper got statistics of the known gold deposit, geologic anomalies and RS anomalies in this region, summarized the mineralization regulation and established a prediction model for the gold mine resources in this region. On the basis of spatial analysis and statistics results as well as the prediction model, using the two predicting methods of RS mineralization and prospecting information, the paper predicted the mineralization in this region both qualitatively and quantitatively, defined the perspective prospecting zones and compared these two methods with each other. The paper’s main work contains the following aspects:(1) RS Analysis on the ETM images on the base of the research of the region’s geologic mineralization background. Information extraction on gold mineral alteration, include alteration on argillization, ferrugination and silicification, of the region with the use of PCA Method and ratio method.(2) In accordance with the geologic anomalies and RS anomalies, establishing a multi-resourced geologic information database, include geographical data, geologic data, RS data.(3) Forming a DEM model of the region’s contour line data with the use of the MAPGIS. Forming a3-dimensional view model of the area according to the ETM RS images and basic geographical data.(4) Using softwares such as MAPGIS, MORPAS, ARCGIS for the spatial analysis on the known gold mine point in the region and the RS anomalies data, thus making a conclusion on the mineralization impact of all the mineral-controlling factors as follows:the main ore-bearing layer is the carboniferous, the main mineral-controlling structure is the northeastward fracture, the northeastward and east-westward linear structure and RS anomalies have certain impact on the form of gold mine.(5) Using ARCGIS to predict RS mineralization in the region. Conducting spatial overlay analysis on the mineral-controlling layers to form a concluding prediction layer, on which the marked zones are the most promising ones for prospecting. According to the mineralization theory, the paper thus defined four perspective prospecting zones.(6) Using MORPAS to calculate the prospecting information of the region and define five perspective prospecting zones, including3A-class zones and2B-class zones. The comparison between these four zones and the four zones concluded from RS prospecting prediction showed that they coincide with each other, thus certifying the feasibility and reliability of these two mineralization prediction method.
