The cylinder block is the most important core parts and components of the engine.The cylinder hole machining accuracy on it is paramount. Its high precision requirementshave become the difficult problem to improve the engine quality. So that, under the massproduction, it’s very necessary to develop the high quality cylinder block production lineand the cylinder hole dedicated processing equipment. This can improve the productionprocessing, the cylinder body processing quality and the overall performance of the engine.And also we can improve the overall vechicle performance and the competitivness andmarket share.Based on investigating the cylinder clock technology of many production lines andconsulting and studying a lot of relevant data and papers, the author summary and selectedthe cylinder clock’s production model, and in-depth analysis and study machiningprocesses and equipment of the cylinder bore, studied application of boring methods infinishing of the engine block cylinder bore, and designed the technology program ofcylinder bore fine boring machining.This paper aims the finishing method and processing characteristics of the cylinderbore, designed a special fixture for bore finishing, and revolve fixture designed structuresof foundation and key components of the boring machine, such as bed, column, toolsystems and transmission system. This article analyzed the dynamic behavior of the bed,column and boring bar to verify the machine tool which we designed could meet thedemand of static stiffness and vibration modal. For testing if this machine tool’s industrialart can reach the demand of dynamic processing, we made it’s3-D assembly andKinematics Simulation Analysis by a virtual prototyping technology.After the machine tool design and manufacturing, through the cylinder body of theactual processing experiment and test, the processing accuracy and production efficiencyare to meet the actual requirements. The machine tool precision and its machining accuracyhave reached the domestic advanced level. Used in a factory for more than a year, theperformance of the special boring machine all are in good. It obtained relativelyconsiderable benefits for the enterprise.
