With the increasingly high demand for the quality of the plate in the market, thetraditional sheet metal processing has been unable to meet the needs of the market. As theadvanced and popular production technology, twin-roll continuous casting has drawnwidespread concerns in the world. In1846, the British Bessemer first proposed the idea ofsheet continuous casting, and introduced the principle of the cooling roll type continuouscasting and rolling in the form patent. But due to the technical conditions at that time, itfailed. In1930, German Junghans, rolled a sheet successfully as the first application ofvertical continuous casting rolling mill. After150years of development sheet casting androlling technology has accumulated a large number of theoretical basis and practicalexperiences, and has a broad development space.Precision of the Plate thickness is one of the important indexes to measure of thequality of sheet metal. Therefore, casting and rolling technology of roll gap control isessential. The control for thickness of plate adopts the automatic generation control(AGC).It can be divided into electric AGC and hydraulic AGC as the power element different.Electric AGC system’s response speed and high rigidity can’t meet the requirements forthe control system. After years of practice and research, it found that it necessary to usehydraulic AGC system to solve the problem in the continuous casting slab thickness.Hydraulic AGC system needs to overcome pool level unstable in rolling process, therigidity of rolling mill, roller system of mechanical precision and rolling speed changesand other factors influenced on the system. It automatically and rapidly adjusts hydrauliccylinder position to make the roll gap remain in the target values of nearby so as to makethe exit thickness constant. This paper analysis casting and rolling mill roll gap control method from the researchof the casting rolling mill system in magnesium alloy casting. First, it establishes themathematical model of servo valve controlled asymmetrical cylinder system in theapplication of automatic control principles of the frequency analysis method. Secondly, inthe Matlab module Simulink respectively simulate valve controlled asymmetrical cylinderextends and retracts by using PI control, and PID control. Through the simulation of thepreliminary it designs the various parameters of the components in the systems. Itanalysed the superiority of PI control and PID control from the time domain characteristicand frequency characteristic. It validates the PID control is more suitable for the systembased on a combination of theory and practice.The availability of PID control can be seen from the out rolling aluminum alloy sheet.PID control ensures the valve controlled asymmetrical cylinder system stability andresponse speed, which meet the requirements of practical application.
