The convergence of the energy intensity and carbon emissions actually is a study of the variation of the energy intensity and carbon emissions, and help people to predict future energy consumption and carbon emissions and the development of rational energy conservation policy. Between the intensity of energy consumption and carbon emissions whether there is a rule to follow it? I.e., energy consumption intensity becomes gradually smaller in the region, whether the carbon emissions also tend to reduce? In other words, the carbon emissions gradually become converge. Around this problem, this article based on the theoretical and empirical system research on the energy consumption intensity and carbon emissions of convergence property, and analyze the relationship between the energy consumption intensity and carbon emissions.Firstly, on the basis of the principles of economics, build convergence model of the intensity of energy consumption and carbon emissions, followed by panel data analysis of the convergence of our country and27provinces in energy intensity and carbon emissions, finally, by sliding windows and correlation analysis of the convergence relationship between the empirical analysis. Draw conclusions of the study are:first, the energy consumption intensity, our country as a whole and the eastern and central regions there is a significant σ convergence, followed by the eastern region there is absolute (3convergence, and in1995-2011, China’s energy consumption intensity is also reflected a remarkable convergence characteristics of eastern, central and western club. Second, carbon emissions, the country as a whole and eastern regions there is a significant a convergence, the central region of the σ level of convergence is not very significant, and the west was divergent state, β absolute convergence in our country as a whole or considered from a regional perspective does not exist, the β conditional convergence exists only in the western region, and the central and western regions per capita carbon emissions club convergence characteristics. Third, China’s overall energy consumption intensity β absolute convergence and absolute convergence of carbon emissions β there is no significant correlation. Three regions, only the eastern China energy consumption intensity of β absolute convergence carbon emissions β absolute convergence of the presence of significant with correlation; β conditions convergence, our overall energy consumption intensity of β conditions for convergence and carbon emissions β conditions for convergence exists significant correlation and western energy consumption intensity β conditional convergence with the carbon β the conditional convergence there is a significant correlation.
