Mine ventilators are indispensable safety equipments in coal mine, and they playimportant roles in safety production in coal mine. Therefore, efficiently automatic monitoringand control on ventilators can be not only significant in safety production, but alsomeaningful in energy-saving and emission reduction.In this paper, aiming at the problems existed in monitoring and control system ofventilator, combining with the production requirements in coal mine, the automaticmonitoring and control system based on PLC and configuration technology was designed,which realized real time monitoring on vibration, temperature, humidity, methaneconcentration, amount of ventilation, speed, and pressure, and realized automatic control onamount of ventilation. In the system, the subordinate computer opted for S7-300programmable controller to complete collection and control of main control parameters ofventilator, and the communication with principal computer. The principal computer adoptedMCGS configuration software to develop the monitoring and control interface, display theparameters of ventilator which are transmitted by subordinate computer. Besides, it can alsorecord relative data and alarm. Aiming at characteristics of the mine ventilator system such asgreat inertia, long time-delay, nonlinearity and time-varying uncertainty, the method ofcombining PID control with neural network control was adopted to design a neural networkPID adaptive controller which can control the amount of ventilation. In addition, theautomatic regulation for methane concentration can be achieved.The experiment and simulation results showed that, this system realized the function ofautomatic monitoring of mine ventilator. By using PID control based on BP neutral network,the amount of ventilator and methane concentration can be controlled, which improved thecontrol effect of ventilator. Additionally, the purpose of energy-saving and emission reduction was realized, and the automation and intelligence of mine ventilator were enhanced. Whileensuring safety ventilation, it can reduce energy consumption, so good economic benefits andsocial benefits can be achieved.
