Metal plates, with many merits, have been widely used in many fields ofmodern industrial processes. The outputs and technical skills of metal material isan important symbol of national economic strength. Therefore, the topic hasattracted the attention of many scholars from various countries, which relates toincrease the efficiency of metal plates production with more accuracy.The content of this paper is based on research of plate bender’s practicalapplication experience, feature and developing trend both at home and abroad. Asa result, the paper has proposed a design solution on the special-purpose machinetool for plate bender of air valve body. To accomplish the analysis of plate bendermanufacturability and the calculation of the roll force. Furthermore, improvedthe productivity for rolling process, which in the light of the question on currentissues of huge demand and low efficiency on the central air-conditioner’s airvalve body production.According to requirements of the process, this paper presents thetransmission scheme, assigns the transmission ratio of each shaft and makesdynamic analysis. It also provides overall structural design of plate bender, thedesign of vertical and horizontal roller structure and their rolling technologies.Through the application of the Pro/E design software into the three-dimensionalmodeling and simulation on plate bender, simulates the movement of realsituation and checks the existence of interference phenomenon. Finally, thispaper applies ABAQUS software to the finite element modeling on the roller ofplate bender, makes model analysis of the roller, and forcing analysis of therolling process, calculates the inherent frequency and the largest stress affectedzone of the roller, and forward into the improvement scheme of the rolleraccording to the results.Air valve body plate bender has been manufactured and debugged. From the experience of practical activity proves, that the application of multiple rollers tocontinuous forming can well solve many problems in air valve body of thecentral air-conditioning vent production, such as oversize metal sheet anddifficulties in stamping process issues. Thus, rolling technics can widely applyinto mass manufacturing of products that required complex section shape, as dueto its advantage of lighter weight, greater stiffness, and higher efficiency. Thedesign method of plate bender in this paper has guiding significance of the designon model plate bender.
