PCI system(Powder Coal Injection) is an important part for blast furnace smelt manufacture, it is a main measure in iron-making to save coke and cost, which uses some coal to replace coke. It is important for blast furnace to keep continuity、 stabilization and reliability in the process of iron-making, so a high quality automatic control system is required in PCI system. The project of which2000m3blast furnace PCI was completed in July2005, The project of which3200m3blast furnace PCI was completed in June2006, and has run to the present. When engineering construction on introduction automatic control idea, substitution manual control, and consummates gradually this design in the production process. This article unifies the blast furnace to powder coal production in the foundation to study the Tianjin Steel Factory ironworks blast furnace to powder coal automatic control system the design and the optimization, and has obtained the experimental result.The automatic control system of the PCI includes powder coal making、powder coal injecting、automatic switch of pot and safety precaution for PCI. The automatic control system for PCI is a typical control system of continuous process. So PLC can satisfy its manufacture control needs and ensure the continuity and stabilization in the process of iron making.The Siemens S7series products are used in hardware design of this project, The Citect products are used in software design of this project. The process control algorithm should satisfy not only the technics for PCI but also the equipment、manufacture safety and simple operation. PID control is used in closed loop control. The instruments are equipped completely, which detect the sign of flow、pression、temperature and weight relevant to loop control、safety manufacture and material measurement.In the PCI production process, the automatic control system which is the hard core of PCI must to build the rigorous control system. It needs exploitation and investigation so that advancing stability of control system and integrality of control theory. With control system was optimized, it can meet the needs of injecting powder coal to the blast furnace continuously and steadily, and run safely and reliably. In this topic research,first.I lucubrate the production of powder coal, and next establishes the automatic control idea completely in the total technological requirement foundation, design from the hardware and the software aspect. Finally, makes the optimized improvement with progress of production demand in the production, and achieves the research goal.
