With the rapid development of the Chinese economy, security also becomes a widely concerned problems, industrial non-destructive testing technology is the industry’s research focus. Ultrasonic phased array non-destructive detecting technology was widely used because of its penetrability, rapidity and other advantages. However, conventional ultrasonic imaging technology has difficulties in finding and evaluating the flaw accurately because of its low resolving capability.In order to improve the quality of ultrasonic imaging, enhance signal to noise ratio (SNR) and the ratio of flaw detection, sampling phased array technology can solve the problems excellently by in-depth study of ultrasonic imaging. Given the current status of the domestic ultrasonic phased array testing system depending on foreign imports heavily, a detection system based on FPGA embedded platform is put forward.Firstly, made mathematical model of synthetic focusing imaging arithmetic and data was calculated and analyzed amply, then the scheme of arithmetic was designed, the data was collected and image reconstruction was carried out in laboratory. The feasibility and effectiveness of the scheme was validated by analyzing results.Secondly, developed the hardware architecture solution of ultrasonic phased array testing system based on FPGA, reference on TI and ADI. With the convergence of computing and communications, as well as a wide range of multimedia processing requirements, embedded systems has been an unprecedented vigorous development. Made a detailed description of FPGA embedded system, analogy in the computer system design.In addition, designed the modules of sampling phased array transmit control unit, VGA display interface basing on data stream format and DDR3SDRAM hard memory controller and done the system integration by Qsys.Finally, synthetic focusing algorithm was realized in the FPGA embedded platform. The results show that the platform can effectively realize the imaging detecting of defects. In a word, this paper lays a solid foundation for the further design of ultrasonic phased array system. It has a very good meaning to promote the ultrasonic phased system development of miniaturization and integration.
