In recent years, with the continuous progress and rapid development of our industry and society, the water pollution problem we are facing is getting worse and worse. Wastewater amount are increasing year by year and the effluent quality tends to be diversified. High concentration organic wastewater which is difficult to degraded through bio-chemical methods has posed a serious threat to human health, and its amount are increasing due to the increasing of pollution sources. However, high concentration organic wastewater couldn’t be effectively treated through traditional treating methods. Currently, methods that have used in the treating of high concentration organic wastewater still have many shortcomings. Therefore, studies on the treatment of high concentration organic wastewater has become a research focus among environmental science and engineering technology fields.Using electro-catalytic oxidation treating methods as the treatment method of organic wastewater, there is no need to add other chemical reagents, and the electrolysis devices are small and with small ground area. Meanwhile, the equipment is easy to operate and has little sludge produced, the subsequent process can be biological method, saving cost as well as simplify the treating process. Nowadays, electro-catalytic treatment methods had developed form traditional two-dimensional electrode treatment to three-dimensional electro-catalytic oxidation treatment.This paper chooses three-dimensional electro-catalytic oxidation treating equipment(provided by Shanghai Guo Hou Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.) in the treating of high concentration(COD>30000mg/L) dye wastewater and high concentration(COD>200000mg/L) chemical wastewater, and analysis its degradation effect on COD, BODs, Cl-, SO42-, NH3-N and color, then tries to find out its degradation mechanisms. The main results see as belows:(l)Using three-dimensional electro-catalytic oxidation treating equipment under common temperature and pressure has a perfect treating effect when treating high concentration dye wastewater. After120minutes of treatment, the pH rises a little bit, the removal efficiency of COD, Cl-,SO42-,NH3-N and color has reached92.3%,89.0%,86.3%,96.7%and87.8%respectively. After treating for120minutes, BOD5/COD has increased from0.02to0.28, the enhance rate reached1300%and the effluent can meets the requirements of subsequent biochemical treating process. Studies on the relationship between COD with current density, faraday current efficiency, space-time yield and power consumption shows that through electro-catalytic oxidation treating process, the current density, faraday current efficiency and space-time yield are higher than similar studies domestic and aboard, while the power consumption is lower than similar studies domestic and aboard.(2)Using three-dimensional electro-catalytic oxidation treating equipment under common temperature and pressure has a perfect treating effect when treating high concentration chemical wastewater. After120minutes of treatment, the pH rises a lot and tends to be neutral. The removal efficiency of COD, Cl-, SO42-and NH3-N reached62.3%,83.6%,50.8%and75.2%respectively. Studies on the relationship between COD with current density, faraday current efficiency, space-time yield and power consumption shows that through electro-catalytic oxidation treating process, the current density, faraday current efficiency and space-time yield are higher than similar studies domestic and aboard, while the power consumption is lower than similar studies domestic and aboard.Studies found when treating dye wastewater and chemical wastewater, electro-catalytic oxidation treating equipment has reached good treating effects, wastewater’s biodegradability improved a lot after the treatment and the power consumption is low, so we recommend application using.
