Development and technical research of domestic carpet tufting machine is at initial stage. In this paper, tufting implementing mechanism of the 4-meter wide carpet tufting machine is studied in order to analyse movement and mechanical properties.Tufting implementing mechanisms are two linkages, they transform the spindle rotation to movements of tufting needle and tufting hook. Tufting implementing mechanisms are assembled to spindle and shake axis. The impact of the tufting implementing mechanism of the carpet tufting machine is one of the key components of performance, inertial force in the course of operation of the machines will have adverse effects such as noise and vibration, analyzing and optimizing mechanical properties can improve its performance.(1) The carpet tufting technology mainly is decided by the movement characteristics. This paper analyzed detailedly the tufting movement of the carpet tufting machine and relevant institutions, and studied factors that the carpet tufting machine operation and the implementing mechanisms affect the quality of carpet. On this basis, using virtual prototype simulation software ADAMS, I studied the movement of tufting implementing mechanism, and summed up the quick return and dynamical properties of the implementing mechanisms. Aiming at the impact of the horizontal uneven surface of the carpet, shortening the course of giving out yarn can raise carpet yarn blanket horizontal surface roughness. Finally, designed a new tufting hook mechanics, enhance the rate of giving out yarn.(2) Main working resistance of tufting implementing mechanisms is tufting needle resistance, so the resistance of the tufting needles is not only the basis for choice of spindle motor power but also the important parameters of designing machine and theoretical analysis. In this paper, I designed a test system in order to test the resistance when tufting needles traverse the base fabric material. In ideal conditions, test data and simulation results are same basically. Then this test system collected two groups of data using PP base material and non-woven material separately at different speeds. The test data can be used as references in estimating tufting needles of the same kind of carpet tufting machine.(3) In response to tufting implementing mechanisms of carpet tufting machine, this paper analyzed mechanical properties. This paper analyzed the inertial force of components and the friction between the various components. According to Energy conservation theorem, tufting implementing mechanism has been studied. Summarized that because of cyclical change of load of tufting needles and the uneven distribution of quality of linkage, tufting implementing mechanisms will cause cycle load to spindle in the implementation process.
