ObjectiveThe objective of the study was to investigate the expression of Twist,E-cadherin andN-cadherin both in normal endometrium and in endometrioid adenocarcinomatissues,to analyse and explore the expression of Twist,E-cadherin and N-cadherinproteins,further the relationship between the protein expression and the clinicalparameters was expounded, and at last, provide theory evidence for invasion andmetastasis of endometrioid adenocarcinoma.Material and MethodsWe used immunohistochemistry (two steps methods)to detect the expression ofTwist, E-cadherin and N-cadherin proteins in76samples of endometrioidadenocarcinoma,50samples of normal endometrium tissues.Results1. The positive expression of Twist and N-cadherin proteins in endometrioidadenocarcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in normal endometriumtissues (u=14.8,9.04, P<0.05), the positive expression of E-cadherin protein inendometrioid adenocarcinoma tissues were significantly lower than those in normalendometrium tissues (u=4.14, P<0.05).2. There was no significant difference in thepositive expression rates of Twist protein among different stages by age, BMI, basicdisease and vessel invasion (P>0.05); but there was significant difference in thepositive expression rates of Twist protein among different stages by InternationalFederation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO,2009), pathological differentiationdegree, depth of myometrial invasion (P<0.05). The same results were showed in thepositive expression rates of E-cadherin and N-cadherin proteins.3. In endometrioidadenocarcinoma tissues, the expression of Twist protein and E-cadherin protein wasnegative correlation (r=-0.584, P<0.05), the expression of Twist protein and N-cadherin protein was positive correlation (r=0.460,P<0.05), and the expression ofE-cadherin protein and N-cadherin protein was negative correlation (r=-0.626,P<0.05).Conclusion:The positive expression of Twist protein and N-cadherin was significantly high inendometrioid adenocarcinoma tissues; the positive expression of E-cadherin proteinwas significantly low in endometrioid adenocarcinoma tissues. The positiveexpression of Twist, E-cadherin and N-cadherin were related to the different stages byFIGO, pathological differentiation degree and depth of myometrial invasion ofendometrioid adenocarcinoma. Twist may participate in the occurrence of EMT,affect the expression of E-cadherin and N-cadherin, and may be related to metastasisand progression of endometrioid adenocarcinoma.
