Objectives:Investigate the dietary pattern and the influencing factors in Luoyang city. To explore the influencing factors of diabetes, and then provide the guidance for prevention of diabetes through health related behavior and dietary. Methods:Residents above18were investigated by random sampling in one district of Luoyang city. Their basic information, health related behavior, medical history and home information were collected, then diet history in past1year were collected by food frequency questionnaire(FFQ). Besides, height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting blood-glucose (FBG) and two hours blood-glucose after meals were measured, BMI were calculated by height and weight. The chi-square test and t-test were used to compare the differences among multiple datas, and factor analysis method were used to obtain dietary pattern. Then logistic regression model was used to illustrate diabetes influencing factors.Results:1. Factor analysis method obtained five main dietary patterns:animal food pattern, drink pattern, plant food pattern, bean milk fruit cake pattern and egg fried food pattern. The chi-square test showed that gender, age, education level, marital status, type of occupation, economic condition or alcohol drink maybe associated with the choice of different dietary pattern.2. Univariate logistic regression suggested that aging, other marital status, income increasing, bean milk fruit cake pattern are risk factors(OR>1.000), plant food pattern, high-intensity physical activity and sleeping time growth are protective factors(OR<1.000). Multivariate logistic regression suggested income is positively associated with diabetes(OR=1.510), compared with the lowest level intake of plant food pattern, the other two level intake are both inversely associated with diabetes (OR=0.626, and OR=0.585, respectively). Conclusion:There are five main dietary patterns in the research residents. A variety of factors may affect the choice of dietary patterns. The income increasing and plant food pattern are independent risk and protective factors for diabetes, respectively. Bean milk fruit cake pattern, aging and other marital status(such as divorce) may be risk factors for diabetes, and high-intensity physical activity and sleeping time growth are possible protective factors for diabetes.
