| Objective:To observe the change of nutrition biochemistry indexes, bioelectricalimpedance indexes between laparoscopic and traditional open resection of colorectalcarcinoma during the preoperative period, evaluate the patient’s nutritional status, andcompare the two groups’ difference. Methods:Prospectively analyze patients with colorectal carcinoma who hadunderwent radical resection from October2012to March2013, in Liaoning ProvinceCancer Hospital. The patient must satisfy the following criterions: The one is conscious, who can cooperate with the treatment, without fever, hydrothorax, ascites or edema; The pathological diagnose is definite; There is only one primary tumor, and the T stageis not more than three. No distant organ metastasis, ileus and enterobrosis wasfound. Before the operation, the patient did not receive albumin or any enteralnutrition preparation. All patients’ nutritional status are good, they do not have obviousliver and renal dysfunction or Metabolic diseases. The operation is successful and thepatient recovered stably, without any operation related complications. There were sixtypatients satisfied the criterions. Twenty-three patients chose laparoscopic resectionand thirty-seven patients chose open resection. Firstly, we record the generalinformation, including name, age, sex, tumor location,NRS2002. Then we test totalprotein (TP), albumin, globulin (ALB), hemoglobin (HB), total lymphocyte count(TLC),bioelectrical impedance indexes preoperatively and at the3rd and7th daypostoperatively. Results: No difference of age, sex, NRS2002, nutrition biochemical indexes andbioelectrical impedance indexes were detected between the two groups before the operation. The levels of all the indexes decreased after the operation in both groupssignificantly (P〈0.01). The hemoglobin, total protein, albumin of the laparoscopic groupwas significantly higher than that of the open operation group at3rd day postoperatively(P〈0.01), The hemoglobin, albumin is significantly higher than that of open operationgroup at7th day postoperatively.(P〈0.01). The body weight decreased after theoperation in both groups, it was obvious at the3rd day postoperatively. The fat andmuscle tissues decresed. There was no difference of bioelectrical impedanceindexes between the two groups(P〉0.05).Conclusions: Laparoscopic resection of colorectal carcinoma can reducepostoperative stress reaction, which can promote the recovery of visceral proteincompared with the traditional open operation. The body weight decrease after theoperation, especially at the early days, due to the decrease of fat and muscle tissues. However, we still need more experiments to prove whether there is difference onbioelectrical impedance indexes between laparoscopic and traditional open resection ofcolorectal carcinoma. |
