Purpose:To observe if there are some differences of clinical effects on blood-stasis chronic lumbar muscle strain between the following two methods:one is to select acupoints along the huatuo Jiaji points and the gall-bladder meridian of foot Taiyang; the other is to select them according to the textbook, and make an assessment of the safety on the two different ways, so that we can find a more convenient, quicker, less suffering and more effective way to select acupoints when treating blood-stasis chronic lumbar muscle strain.Methods:60patient who suffered from blood-stasis chronic lumbar muscle strain were divided into two groups at random:30of them were treated with the methods that select acupoints along huatuo Jiaji points lines and back-shu points lines around ashi points; the left30patients were acupunctured according to the textbook which is issued under ShiXuemin’s general editorship. All of them were treated30minutes each time, and5times every week, the total time of the treatment were all for4weeks. And their situation should be recorded both before and after the specific treatment and then be analyzed.Result:1.All of the60patients have completed the study;2. the baseline of these two groups are similar, and the difference between their situation before treatment is not so clearly as that we must care about in statistics (P>0.05);3.after the treatment, the situation of both two groups took a significant turn for the better (p<0.05);4.there is significant difference in the effect of the two groups (p<0.05).Conclusion:1.both of the two ways of selecting acupoints are effective in treating chronic lumbar muscle strain, both of them can make the symptom scores and sign scores go better;2.the way that select the points along both huatuojiaji and back-shu lines is more effective, and the area that patients should be acupunctured is not so large or scattered as the that in the other group, so that the patients in this group suffer less, which is more effective and more convenient, better than the way that mentioned in the textbook;3.both of the two ways are safe.
