Analysis On The Knowledge And Behavior Of AIDS In252Students Survey Of A University In Hefei

Objective: Since its discovery in1981, the spread of AIDS around the world rapidly.Especially in recent years, groups of young students with HIV infection rate is on therise. In order to understand college students awareness of AIDS and its prevention andtreatment knowledge, publicity and attitudes towards AIDS virus carriers and patients aswell as the school and the society of knowledge on AIDS education, especially for thequestionnaire. Its purpose is to understand the current college students AIDS knowledgelevel and the channel, find the weak links, and provide the basis for the school andpublic health departments, to carry out prevention knowledge propaganda and educationwork of college students, provide the reference for the government departments todevelop AIDS prevention and education programs and measures.Methods: This study by cluster random sampling, a university in Hefei City inaccordance with different professional class,252students were randomly selected as thesurvey sample. The principles of informed consent and confidentiality in the objectunder investigation, anonymous self-administered questionnaire survey, investigationcontents include: general demographic characteristics, knowledge of AIDS, AIDSrelated behavior, sexual behavior, AIDS awareness, AIDS service informationacquisition situation, and the pre survey, route of transmission, AIDS diagnosisstandards in accordance with the "Epidemiology"(people’s Medical Publishing House, Seventh Edition) and "infectious diseases"(people’s Medical Publishing House, SeventhEdition).Results: the basic AIDS knowledge in college students the correct answer rate was70.98%, theknowledge of prevention and control of the correct rate of questions for32.74%. Group for the19questions about HIV/AIDS basic knowledge, there are4problems correct answer rate of less than50%; for the7AIDS diagnosis and treatment of the problem, there are4correct answer rate of lessthan20%;156students (63.16%) have a fear of AIDS patients; hazards and preventive methods ofAIDS disease the human body is the most hope to understand the knowledge of AIDS;178studentsare willing to participate in the activities of AIDS health education.Conclusion: The sexual concept of teenage students have changed significantly, but the lack ofknowledge of AIDS prevention. It is necessary to carry out AIDS prevention health education inadolescents. College students access to information more abundant than ever. We should strengthenthe policy advocacy efforts, increase investment of AIDS health education to make the campus,specialization, systematization, multi-channel AIDS prevention knowledge dissemination; using avariety of college students love to see and hear form, promote AIDS prevention knowledge, improveAIDS prevention and control work of young students for effect.
