Objective:To investigate the expression of MTDH in colorectal carcinoma, and the correlation with liver metastasis. To evaluate the application of MTDH testing used in the diagnosis of liver metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.Methods:Selected40cases in which patients who suffer from colorectal careinoma with liver metastasis and performed surgical removal of the primary tumors and metastases during the same period from the tumor hospital affiliated to Xiangya Medical School during2008-2012, and selected40cases of colorectal careinoma and the recent follow-up confirmed there was no recent performance of spread from the tumor hospital affiliated to Xiangya School of Medicine in2008. Apply immunohistochemical method to detecting colorectal careinoma tissue with or without liver metastasis and liver metastatic tumors and the expression of MTDH in normal mucosa tissues adjacent to colorectal tumor and data statistical analysis.Results:1)The expression level of MTDH in colorectal careinoma was significantly higher than that in surrounding normal eoloreetal tissue (P<0.05).2)The expression level of MTDH in colorectal carcinoma without liver metastasis was significantly lower than that with liver metastasis(P<0.05).3)The expression level of MTDH had no correlation with gender, age, histological grade or the CEA in colorectal carcinoma(P>0.05). The expression level of MTDH had correlation with TNM stages and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion:MTDH plays a role in the course of generation, development and metastasis of colorectal careinoma.
