Objective:All ages normal ones and patients with early cerebral arteriosclerosis wereinvolved in the study. Determine the time to peak velocity and the normal referencerange of time to peak index of normal ones of all ages,compare all indexes of earlycerebral arteriosclerosis patients with the same age control group and explorediagnostic value of the two indicators (time to peak velocity、time to peak index)for atherosclerosis further.Method:Control group enrolled413people, they were divided into4groups by age:25to34age group、35to44age group、45to54age group and55to64age group.Disease group enrolled103people,from45to54years old. Use American GELOGIQ7Color Doppler ultrasonography with the2.5MHz probe and TCCD condition.Detecte and record systolic velocity(Vs)、end of diastolic velocity(Vd)、resistantindex(RI)、pulsatility index(PI)、systolic-diastolic flow velocity ratio(S/D)、timeto peak velocity(TPV) and cardiac cycle (T) of bilateral middle cerebral artery andbasilar artery,then calculate time to peak index (TPI). All data was analyaed bySPSS19.0statistieal software package and SAS.Result:1.The mean of TPV、TPI of the middle cerebral artery and the basilar artery ofall age groups in normal control groups.(1) TPV、TPI of the middle cerebral artery:25-34age group:(58.59±5.51) ms、(15.09±1.52)35-44age group:(58.84±5.93) ms、(14.87±1.47)45-54age group:(64.47±5.88) ms、(13.56±1.52)55-64age group:(74.23±4.59) ms、(11.40±1.62)(2) TPV、TPI of the basilar artery:25-34age group:(58.00±5.83) ms、(15.05±1.37)35-44age group:(59.17±3.98) ms、(14.89±1.56) 45-54age group:(72.27±6.45) ms、(12.13±1.17)55-64age group:(80.27±4.99) ms、(10.49±1.60)2. The95%confidence interval of TPI of the middle cerebral artery and thebasilar artery of all age groups in normal control groups.(1) The95%confidence interval of TPI of the middle cerebral artery of all agegroups in normal control groups25-34age group:>12.6035-44age group:>12.4645-54age group:>11.0755-64age group:>8.74(2) The95%confidence interval of TPI of the basilar artery of all age groupsin normal control groups25-34age group:>12.8035-44age group:>12.3345-54age group:>10.2155-64age group:>7.873. Comparisons in normal control groups(1) Comparison of TPV and TPI in each group: TPV comparison:25-34agegroup <35-44age group <45-54age group <55-64age group. TPI comparison:25-34age group>35-44age group>45-54age group>55-64age group.There is nosignificant differences for TPV、TPI between25-34age group and35-44agegroup(P>0.05),there is significant differences between each two group for TPV、TPIof the other groups.(2) Comparison of arteries in the same age group:There is no significantdifferences for TPV、TPI between bilateral middle cerebral artery.Comparison of themean of bilateral middle cerebral artery and basilar artery:TPV of middle cerebralartery of45-54age group and55-64age group significantly less than that of thebasilar artery, TPI of middle cerebral artery of45-54age group and55-64agegroup significantly greater than that of the basilar artery.4.Compared with control group:(1) Vs and Vd in disease group was significantly lower (P <0.0001).(2) PI、RI、S/D of bilateral middle cerebral artery in disease group have no significant differences (P>0.05),PI、RI、S/D of basilar artery was significantlyhigher(P <0.05).(3) TPV of three arteries in disease group were significantly longer(P <0.0001),TPI were significantly reduced (P <0.0001).5. There is no significant correlation between TPI and PI of three arteries in thedisease group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.TPV of normal ones were prolonged with increasing age,and TPI werereduced.2.Vs、Vd、PI、RI and S/D of three arteries of early cerebral artery atherosclerosispatients were still within the range of normal reference;Compared with the controlgroup,TPV significantly prolonged,TPI significantly reduced,and TPI is less thanthe range of normal reference of the same age control group.3. There is no significant correlation between TPI and PI,so the TPI in this studyis different from the traditional TCCD evaluation of cerebral artery elasticity.
