This paper is a preliminary discussion about the balance of yin and yang Acupunctureprinciples in the treatment mechanism of ischemic stroke from the literature review, theory, clinical research and statistical analysis.Object: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture basing on balance of yinand yang in treatment of the ischemic stroke, to provide the effective treatment methodsand points theoretical basis. Methods: The study is based on the diagnosis criterion which was instituted by theNational TCM administration and the Chinese Medical Fourth National Conference. wehave selected suitable cases from the inpatient department of Acupuncture Rehabilitationand Encephalopathy in the first affiliated hospital of Nanjing TCM University since July,2006 to March, 2007.They are randomly divided into treating group and compared group. There both are 19 cases in each group. The treating group is prescription as follow: Jianyu, lcun blow-Jiquan, Quchi, chizhe, Neiguan, Hegu, Sanyinjiao, Yanglinquan, Yinlingquan,Zusanli, Jiexi, Taichong. The points of yang meridian are under reducing, and thenreinforcing the points of yin meridian. The compared group is prescription as follow:Jianyu (the affected side, following-the-same), Quchi, Shousanli, Waiguan, Hegu,Huantiao, Fengshi, Yanglingquan, Zusanli, Jiexi, Kunlun. All the points are under smoothmethod. To observe basing on the standard list of harmed neuron function (table 1) and theBarthel index improved standards (table 2), then check the rheology of blood and thecholesterol of blood before and after the treatment, to do statistic research in both group toassess the results. Statistic and analysis is using SPASS 14.0 statistic software package toanalyze and dispose. Results: The therapeutic effect of treating group is as same as the compared group(p>0.05), illustrates the effect there is no difference in treatment. The cholesterol of bloodin treating group is as same as the compared group, shows there is no difference betweenthe two methods. ADL scores before and after treatment are significantly different (p<0.01),which shows two treatment methods have all improved ADL significantly. However, treatment between the two groups had no significant differences, which shows there is no difference between the two methods. After treatment the improvement in blood viscosity400、30 is significantly difference (p<0.05) between the two group, shows the treatinggroup is better than the compared group in improving the blood viscosity. Two methodshave no differences in improvement of hematocrit, high shear reduced, and the rigidityindex. Conclusions: This study is basing on the cause of ischemic stroke pathogens, imbalance between yin and yang. In clinic research we choose the point which can balancethe yin and yang of body and the affected limb to do acupuncture treatment, not only thesigns of stroke patients has been significantly improved, having more satisfactory clinicalefficacy, blood "thick", "stick", "accumulate", "cohesion" having been improved. Thisstudy used the "balance yin and yang" as acupuncture treatment. The affected limb andbody through treatment achieve the yin and yang balance, so brain have made so calm anddependents, plans and go, the balance of yin and yang, hemiplegia resume. This fullyshows that the balance of yin and yang Acupuncture treatment of ischemic stroke in thescientific feasibility worthy of clinical application. So that there was sufficient support forbrains, and hemiplegia resume. This fully shows that the balance of yin and yangAcupuncture treatment in ischemic stroke is the scientific and feasibility method, which ismeaningful to spread this kind of treatment in clinical application.
