Transition Complex Sentence is widely used in communication, which is also oneof the difficulties and important grammar for foreign students to grasp according topractical and applied researches. The thesis investigates the acquisition of ChineseTransition Complex sentence in Indonesian students of advanced level, discussestheir acquisition sequences and effect and thus hopes to provide some usefulreferences to the compilation of materials and teaching. Transverse survey andquestionnaire are made and used in order to ensure the validity and reliability.There are five parts in the thesis.The first chapter is preface, mainly talking about the previous ontologyresearches about Chinese Transition Complex Sentence and its teaching methodology.It also explains the theoretical background of the whole thesis.Chapter2discusses the practical acquisition and application of ChineseTransition Complex Sentence by analyzing the results of questionnaires.Chapter3looks into739compositions of Indonesian Chinese learners from HSKcorpus and those from Shanghai Normal University, in order to see how ChineseTransition Complex Sentences are used in practice. Then it compares the controlledgroup and spontaneous expression to see the differences.Chapter4analyses what causes the differences in Chapter3and gives advice toteaching Chinese transition complex sentence as a foreign language and thecompilation of textbooks.Chapter5is the conclusion about the main results of the thesis, what it lacksand what it needs to be improved in the future.Two appendices are attached after the paper, one for questionnaire, the otherfor HSK corpus of compositions of Indonesian students.
