The21st century is the era of knowledge economy, the new era, competition isreflected in both the world economy, but also reflects the training. The rapid economicdevelopment of lifelong education, lifelong learning has become a consensus. Collegesand Universities from the student’s own needs to find a starting point, from theautonomous learning ability aspects, especially to raise the level of students’ foreignlanguage, a new concern in the community today.Use questionnaires, interviews of Non-English Majors of the Central Universityfor Nationalities Autonomous Learning ability to make a careful investigation,combined with the results of previous studies, to understand the English teaching of theCentral University for Nationalities, after mathematical statistics, students’ learningpsychology analysis, analysis of the existing problems and reasons. The study foundthat the independent study there: the motivation is not strong, most students passivelearning; focusing on classroom teaching, ignoring the initiative of student learningculture; poor guide the learning process of students’ autonomous learning; learningoutcomes assessment of a single, self-realization lack of concern and other issues.On this basis, combined with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory, stimulatestudents independent learning enthusiasm: the organization of courses for differenttypes of students, to cultivate an interest, to lay the foundation; train students toestablish a correct English learning objectives; in the students’ learning process givenmoderate guidance; improve the learning environment to stimulate the enthusiasm ofstudents ’self-learning; rich assessment tools, improved "points cover the wholephenomenon; emphasis on students’ self-actualization needs, build the platform of Useof English.Obtained by analyzing the status of the Central University for Nationalitiesstudents learning English and students’ autonomous learning English autonomous learning deficiencies, targeted by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as a basis, then putforward on English self-learning ability culture should be noted that several aspects, inorder to better stimulate students’ English Autonomous Learning enthusiasm tocontribute to improve the standard of English.The innovation of this paper is that the departure from the hierarchy of needstheory, Analysis of Non-English Majors English self-learning ability cultivation.
