Strategy And Techniques For The Translation Of Political Document:a Case Study Of Bilingual Documents Published In Beijing Review Annual2011

Based on the bilingual Documents (Chinese-English) published in Beijing Review Annual2011as the study case, the thesis analyzes the strategy-orientation, translation process and the technique application of the C-E translation of political documents. The thesis illustrates the translation features of the political documents published in Beijing Review, including the brief introduction and features and influence. Chapter two makes a specific analysis of the political document translation, focusing on strategy, process and technique in translation. Simple analysis of the technique applied is also discussed in this chapter. Finally, enlightenment for translation of external publicity on politics is attempted in the fourth part, followed by the brief conclusion parts together with limitations and suggestions for further research.According to the analysis to the cases and the features and function of bilingual document in Beijing Review, the thesis holds the opinion that foreignization is dominating with domestication being complementary in processing detail considering the acceptance of the readers in target language. And as to the process of translation, the cooperation of the team work especially the checking and revising needs to be strengthened, especially for avoiding the basic mistakes like grammatical mistakes. Based on the guarantee of it, the translators could be encouraged to process the translation properly for a better effect of external publicity. Besides it is wise to adopt interlineal explanation technique to highlight the related effect. However, more rigorousness is called for when amplification and omission is obtained. In addition, changes in the meaning between the original and the translation should be paid attention to when shift of perspective is adopted in translation. Finally it is a necessity for improving the effect to apply syncopation and combination.
