The Summary On Chinese Version Of Quran And Its Language Style

Quran is the root of Islam and the essence of the Arabic language. Its vocabulary,grammar and rhetoric are recognized the prime example in the Arabic literature,which is highly praised by people. It has been accepted by Chinese Muslims sinceIslam entered China. However, the early Chinese Muslim scholars once stronglyopposed the Chinese version of Quran due to the current thought, knowledge, abilityand situation. It had excerpted and selected version in the process. The completeChinese version of Quran wasn’t published until the20thcentury.The Chinese version of Quran strived to be true the original and in rhyme andfine writing. All scholars spent many years exploring its secrets and nature, which wasfinally translated into different versions and has different styles. This paper stated thatthe20existing versions and four categories and further summarized each version andits language style.First, the introduction to Quran and Chinese version translated situation. Second,comments on the20existing Chinese versions of Quran according to its genres: theMosque style, classic style, vernacular style and rhymed style. Third, it discussed thatthe language style of the Chinese version.
