A Comparison Study On Vocabulary Of Southern Dialect In Hunan Province

On the basis of Plentiful information which comes form the author’s Practical field work,this paper uses a series of scientific methods to describe in detail vocabulary of Southern dialects in Hunan province.The methods include statistics, chart method, comparative method, static description and so on.Based on description,the paper sketches the vocabulary of the inside differences of Southern dialects in Hunan province and unveils the differences and connections between Southern dialects and Changsha dialect, Yiyang dialect.The paper provides evidences for the adscription of Southern dialects in Hunan province, and it also lays a foundation for the vocabulary of Southern dialects in Hunan province.The paper includes the following five parts:Part one illustrates the general overview and distribution range of Southern dialects in Hunanprovince.It introduces the location, population, products, culture and language of Zhongyukou and Liangxinbao, which are the representatives spots for the Southern dialects.It also protracts the purpose and practical meaning of topic selected, as well as its researching methods and some information of the co-operators.Part two illustrates the phonological systems for Zhongyukou dialect and Liangxinbao dialect.Part three depaints a lexical contrast chart of Zhongyukou dialect and Liangxinbao dialect,which sets out nearly5000words which including30 kinds covered astronomy, animal, verb, adjective and so on.Part four makes the inside comparison of vocabulary of Southern dialects in Hunan province,while is a comparison for four aspects of these two dialects in word’s interior form, the vocabulary differences for not corresponding,semantic,morphology.Part five makes the outside comparison of vocabulary of Southern dialects in Hunan province,while unveils the differences and connections between Southern dialects and Changsha dialect, Yiyang dialect.It tries to give a reasonable explanation why Southern one dialect belongs to Yiyuan cluster of Changyi subgroup and Southern two dialect belongs to Changzhutan cluster of Changyi subgroup.
