Chi Zijian is one of the most influential writers in contemporary literary circle,she is extolled as “a dauther of the polar” and “a elve of the literary”. Based on theidentity and responsibility to the folk, Chi Zijian pays attention to the bottom peoplein her hometown, presenting their sorrows and happiness with her warmth writing,showing the rich and colorful folk custom culture on the black land, andthen made unique literary style——feature of “folk”.This paper starts from the feature of “folk”, referring to the theory of folkloreand regional culture, through the interpretation of Chi Zijian’s novels toexplore the performance, reasons and significance of “folk” in her novels, tryingto make a beneficial supplement on Chi Zijian’s novel research. This paper is dividedinto five parts: introduction, three chapters and conclusion.The introduction firstly introduces related theory background, defines theconcept of “folk” in this paper and explains the reasons of selecting this topic, andthen sorts and summarizes the research status. It explains that the paper is based onthe previous research of Chi Zijian’s novels and to make a deeper interpretation andresearch of “folk” feature in Chi Zijian’s novels.The first chapter reviews and explores Chi Zijian’s consistent folk standpoint innovels. From two aspects to analyze: the folk feelings of compassion and dailywriting narrative of folk strategy. Present to the plight of ordinary people, focus ontheir spiritual world and inclusion of the ugly folk are all full of with the writer’scompassion. For ordinary daily writing, the national political turmoil and northeastspecific historical daily narrative embodies the writer’s daily writing narrative of folkstrategy, all of these shows the writer’s folk standpoint and these form the basis of thefeature of “folk” in Chi Zijian’s novels.The second chapter summarizes and shows rich and colorful folk custom culturein Chi Zijian’s novels. Chi Zijian is keen to show the folk custom of hometown,therefore, it can be found folk picture of daily life, folk beliefs, and folk language with inner deep root in her novels. These folk custom culture not only close to thenortheast people’s daily life, but also can promote the aesthetic cultural connotation ofthe novel, the folk custom culture is an important part of “folk” feature in Chi Zijian’snovels.The third chapter analyzes and explores the reasons and significance of “folk”feature in Chi Zijian’s novels. On the one hand, from childhood experience, edify ofregional culture and the influence of the writer’s viewpoint of self-conscious pursuitto discuss the reasons of “folk” feature; on the other hand, the author will analyze thesignificance of “folk” feature in Chi Zijian’s novels, and explore the limitationsbehind the feature of “folk”, try hard to have an objective and fair evaluation on thevalue and significance of Chi Zijian’s literary creation.Conclusion, through the analysis of the “folk” feature in Chi Zijian’s novels, it isnot hard to find that folk is the root of Chi Zijian’s life and the root of Chi Zijian’sliterature. Chi Zijian’s novels promote the feature of the “folk” which has theimportant literature value and significance, the feature is worthy of learning andreference by contemporary literary writers, not only, it should cause deep reflection ofthe members in today’s society, for better appreciating the beauty of life and lookingfor their true spirit homes.
