Han Dynasty is an important period in the history of stylistics research in our country, andin Han Dynasty a lot of styles had existed on the whole. This paper selects the parts of officialdocuments of “shu” style from the whole kinds of official documents in Han Dynasty toresearch, this is a perspective which scholars rarely thought about. The paper considers all kindsof official documents of “shu” style as a whole, and withdraws them from a number of officialstyles in Han Dynasty. It adopts comprehensive analysis method to discuss the official documentsof“shu”style in Han Dynasty under the background of culture. This paper can be divided intofour parts, as follows:The preface part firstly mentions the reason of writing the paper and the research subject—the official documents of “shu” style in Han Dynasty; then defines the area of research and thereason for doing so; finally summarizes the present situation of research on official documents of“shu” style.The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is an overview of the officialdocuments of “shu” style.The first section discussed the origin of official documents, thesecond section briefly analyzed the differences among three kinds of official documents of“shu” style at present.The second chapter classified the official documents of “shu” style in Han Dynasty intothree types—documents from lower ranked officials to higher ones, documents from higherranked officials to lower ones, and the documents among officers of parallel ranks. The researchunfolds in the following two steps:(1) Discuss the origins of the official documents’names;(2)Take the album of ancient articles in prehistorical times, Three epochs, Qin Dynasty, HanDynasty, Three Kingdoms, Jin Dynasty, Northern and Southern Dynasties compiled by YanKejun for text basis, to analyze the texts of the official documents of “shu” style in HanDynasty, and describes the functions, the writing styles and the stylistic features of the officialdocuments in detail.The third chapter analyzed the literariness of the official documents of “shu” style in HanDynasty. The first section explores the literary performance on three aspects: the contents, thesentence structures, and the rhetoric expressions. The second section explores the literaryperformance of the official documents of “shu” style under the cultural background, especially the impact of Confucian Classics. The third section concentrates on the feature of“Ya”which appears in all kinds of the official documents of“shu”style in Han Dynasty, anddraw the conclusion that the Confucian Classics was the main reason which makes the officialdocuments perform this feature.
