Language and culture has a very close relationship. They are interdependent but can mutual influent each other. Language is an important carrier of culture. Culture has a restraining effect on language. If we teach Language beyond the cultural connotations behind, then we teach students some kinds of symbol without any meaning. Therefore, teaching foreign language is teaching both language and culture.Cultural has geographical features and national character. A person who is from a single cultural environment are in the mother culture model and has culture superiority. He will judge other culture with his own culture model unconsciously. Due to the different cultural backgrounds of teachers and students, cultural conflicts occur between teachers and students. How to conduct research in foreign language teaching and cultural conflicts and to avoid or remove cultural conflict in maximum is placed in front of each of the foreign language teaching workers.In this paper, the author take a more popular in the current foreign language teaching profession and widely used intermediate Chinese textbook, the Bridge-A Practical Intermediate Chinese Course for example. The author studies the culture conflicts systematically starting from the evolution of the three forms of cultural conflict. They are several form or culture conflicts in teaching, such as coursed by the problems of political and history affairs, the difference of country situation, the difference of spiritual and cultural life, the difference of customs etc. From the research on those forms of culture conflicts, the author gives some teaching strategies on solve or avoid the culture conflicts from three aspects of teacher, students and teaching material. Hopefully this research can give some illusion and help to the workers in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
