Doupeng Xianhua is a unique vernacular story in Chinese novel history,which is written by Aina Jushi in the early Qing Dynasty.The target of research of this text is to analyze Doupeng Xianhua with perspective of narratology.In recent years,more and more scholars have paid attention to the narrative study of Doupeng Xianhua,but there are still some weak arguments.Therefore,we plan to according to research status of Doupeng Xianhua,giving intensive study to its narrative art.This paper is made of six chapters.Chapter one is the introduction.It mainly includes research status,purpose,meaning and the study object.Chapter two analyzed the unique structure of Doupeng Xianhua.We compare its structure with Shier Lou of Liyu, attempting to understand the real intention of the author.Chapter three discussed the narrator and narrative point of view.Chapter four is making use of the narrative theories of Yangyi to analyze its narrative levels. It includes three parts,which are realistic narrative level,narrative level which be told and the relation of both.Chapter five analyzed the narrative space from four aspects.In this part,we take a new look at narrative space of Doupeng Xianhua,revealing doupeng’s special meanings and studying why Aina Jushi narrated in this way.The last part is the summary of the viewpoint in the paper.
