The infrared spectrum contains a wealth of material information thatincludes not only the chemical composition, physical characteristics, andbiological characteristics. Spectral imaging technology is a combinationof traditional optical imaging and spectroscopy while obtain images andspectra simultaneously. It is clear and intuitive to describe presenceand distribution of the different components in the substance. Infraredspectral image is like a fingerprint of the substance, it is a new meansto describe material composition and spatial characteristics.An evaluation method of drug surface distribution was conducted basedon spectral imaging using the parameter of infrared correlationcoefficient coverage. This method can be used in PAT of drug manufacturingand internal drug quality control.A detection method of illegal added drug in health product wasconducted based on spectral imaging using the parameter of near infraredcorrelation coefficient and infrared absorption peaks. This method canbe used in the identification of counterfeit drugs and unauthorizedillegal added chemical ingredients in health products.
