Objective To analyze infection factors and allergic agents in302urticaria patients of children.Methods302urticaria patients of Qingdao Women and Children’s Hospital were collected and invested from Sep.2012to Feb.2013. The clinical manifestations were recorded and followed-up. Infection evidences in134cases are detected by PCR, ELISA Chemiluminescence method and bacteria culture methods. Antigens were detected in157cases using ELISA method. Serum levels of IgE were measured in94subject using ELISA method. Results In302cases of children with urticaria, AU covers94.37%(285/302cases), CU covers5.63%(17/302cases), and CIU covers1.66%(5/302cases). The hospital admission rate is3.64%(11/302cases). The etiologic agents are identified as follows: About40.20%(121/302cases) of the cases are found evidences of infection. Cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex, adenoviruses, enteroviruses and etc are common infection causes and cover25.50%(77/302cases). Mycoplasma and group A beta hemolytic streptococcus infections cover7.02%(23/302cases) and3.44%(11/302cases). Helicobacter pylori (HP) infections cover1.32%(4/302cases) of the whole cases, and all of the cases infected by HP are UC patients. Allergy history exists in60.60%(183/302cases) of the all cases. Some allergic antigens are detected and lined up according to frequency were:Egg yolk/white35.10%(106/302cases), cow milk30.46%(92/302cases), dust mites15.89%(48/302cases), codfish10.92%(33/302cases), rice9.27%(28/302cases), soybean8.61%(26/302cases), tomato5.96%(18/302cases), wheat5.30%(16/302) mould1.32%(4/302cases). IgE level of302cases are measured with result of75.59±15.43IU/ml, which is significantly higher compared with normal children (P<0.01, respectively). Conclusions Majority of urticaria in children is AU and minority of that is CU. CIU is not common in children but can be found in elder ages group (>3years old). Infection as a trigger of urticaria in children is very common. Allergy is still an important trigger of urticaria in children.Discussion According to this sdudy, the primary treatment of urticaria could be both removal of identifiable pathogenic factors including anti-infection therapy and symptomatic relief. Oral antihistamine agents are the cornerstones of therapy of urticaria.
