Currently, in the field of psychology, there are two main approaches to study creativity, one follows cognitive orientation, the other follows personality orientation. This paper intends to explore the relationship between metacognition and creativity from the perspective of metamemory monitoring. One way, we intend to explore the relationship between metamemory monitoring and creative thinking. The other way, which intends to explore the relationship between metamemory monitoring and creative personality. We mainly have three aspects of work to do:First, the measurement of metamemory monitoring accuracy. There are four kinds of metamemory monitoring in our research, such as immediate judgment of learning(referred as iJOL), delayed judgment of learning(referred as dJOL), feeling of knowing(FOK) and retrospective confidence judgment(RCJ). The paradigm we used in this research is Learn-JOL-Recall-Judgment(FOK)-Recall-RCJ, which is adapted from the classic paradigm proposed by Hart(1965). We mainly used Gamma correlation coefficient and Somer’s d correlation coefficient to measure the accuracy of metamemory monitoring.Second, the measurement of creative thinking. We used two quizes to measure divergent thinking and convergent thinking. The divergent thinking test was drawn from the TTCT, which includes three topics:"unusual uses test (in newspaper)(T1)","production improvement task (T2)" and "the verbal fluency task (T3)". The convergent thinking test includes two topics, one is "remote associates task in Chinese(T4)", which represents the generality dimension, the other is "event sorting task", which represents the logic dimension.Third, the measurement of creative personality. We used WPFM scale to measure individual’s creative personality, which includes four sub-dimensions: adventurous, curiosity, imagination and challenging. We use correlation analysis to analyze the relationship between the above three dimensions, the results are as follows:(1)FOK is positively correlated with total divergent thinking scores and the sub-dimension of fluency, RCJ(Gamma) is positively correlated with the sub-dimension of uniqueness;(2)Total convergent thinking scores is unrelated with the four kinds of metamemory monitoring accuracy, but the scores of T4task is negatively correlated with accuracy of FOK(Somer’s d);(3)Total creative thinking scores is significantly and negatively correlated with RCJ, which is not significantly related with other forms of metamemory monitoring accuracy.(4)The adventurous sub-dimension of WPFM is positively correlated with iJOL, but negatively and significantly correlated with FOK, the curiosity sub-dimension of WPFM is positively correlated with scores of T4task and total scores of convergent thinking. The total score of WPFM is negatively and significantly correlated with FOK.All in all, metamemory monitoring plays an important role in creative thinking and creative personality. The different forms of metamemory monitoring play different roles in creative thinking and creative personality as follows:(1)The relationship between metamemory monitoring and creative thinking:The more accurate of the FOK, the higher score of divergent thinking test and the lower score of T4task he will get. Another, if one make RCJ accurately, he may get good scores in creative thinking test.(2)The relationship between metamemory monitoring and creative personality: the higher score of "adventurous" sub-dimension he gets, the higher accuracy of iJOL and the lower accuracy of FOK he get. If one make FOK accurately, he may get lower creative personality.(3)There is a certain relationship between creative thinking and creative personality, the higher score of "curiosity" sub-dimension he gets, the higher scores of convergent thinking and T4task he will get.
