Compared with learning-better children, this experiment studied the level of metamemory monitoring and the level of metamemory control of learning-disabled children , and their developing characteristic of metamemory ability. Also we studied the interaction between the metamemory monitoring and control of learning-disabled children, and the mechanism of their metamemory monitoring. The design of this experiment was 2 x 3 x 2 mixed design. The three factors were levels of materials(meaningful and meaningless associated Chinese word-pairs), grades(grade 3,4and5), and two types of subjects. The results showed that,1 .Learning-disabled children's magnitudes of JOL,FOK and JOC judgments were significantly lower than learning-better children. So was their accuracy of FOK judgment of gradeS. While their accuracy of JOL and JOC judgments were not significantly lower than learning-better children.2.hi the self-paced study,learning-disabled children allocated more studytime on the judged difficult items. The difference between learning-disabled children and learning-better children on allocating studytime was significant.3.There was interaction between metamemory monitoring and control of learning-disabled cbildren.lt showed the relationship between metamemory monitoring and control.4.There were complex developing trends on the level of different metamemory monitorings and the level of metamemory control of learning-disabled children. The retrospective monitory(JOC) didn't improved following the age, while the prospective monitory(JOL and FOK) showed different developing trends: the magnitude of JOL judgment significantly unproved in grade 4 and 5,but its accuracy didn't improve; the accuracy and mgnitude of FOK judgment both didn't improved,.Also the level of metamemory control improved following the age.S.The subjects'metamemory judgments were affected by the levels of materials. The magnitude of JOL judgment on the meaningful word-pairs were higher than on the meaningless ones. While the magnitude of FOK judgment were not different on the two types of materials.
