With the development of science and technology, modern communication meansare widely used in college students, popular culture spread rapidly into the period ofprosperity. The popular culture in university campus influences students’ thinking andbehaviors. Popular culture in university campus enrich students’ spare life, cultivatingstudents’ creative thinking, accelerate the process of socialization of universitystudents. As part of pop culture driven by profit of commercial operation, the popularculture in university campus have negative impacts on the development of collegestudents. This paper introduce the content, types, characteristics and effects. Thispaper also analyze the negative influences of popular culture in university campus oncollege students explores the reasons of the negative effects and how to draw on theadvantages and avoid disadvantages, lists the relevant measures to minimize thenegative effects.This paper is divided into the following four parts:The first part includes the simple instructions of research background, research athome and abroad, the research methods, innovation points and insufficient.The second part describes the definition and types of the popular culture inuniversity campus, summarizes the characters and functions of the popular culture inuniversity campusThe third part analysis the positive and negative influences on college studentsof popular culture in university campus. To explore the reasons of popular culture’snegative influences on college students.The last part is from pop culture, college students, higher education, universitymanagers to discusss countermeasures to avoid the influences of popular culture.
