In the era of Visual Culture, we live in dazzling visual information all the time. People’svalue systems, knowledge systems, lifestyles are undergoing tremendous changes and evensubversive. What does it mean for school education? Contemporary college students belong to agroup whose psychological characteristics and knowledge structure is unique. They have theirown unique way of viewing, and aesthetic ideas. They have sensitive reaction and rapidlyacceptance to visual information. Our education will naturally be faced with tasks which engagestudents own the visual thinking, alert students’ visual literacy awareness, and improve visualliteracy. In recent years, education has been based on a combination of information technologyand art disciplines to training visual literacy. Some schools have also been explored and try andattracted the attention of many scholars and experts in higher education. So the author inquiredthe subject of "visual literacy training".The author defined visual literacy, and cleared student’s basic capabilities structure incomputer graphic area design through literature research. Then the paper analyzed thecharacteristics of learners "Computer Graphic Design" curriculum, course content, courseobjectives, course concepts, and I considered that "Computer Graphic Design" course is suitablefor students’ visual literacy. This paper proposed visual literacy training program, indicated thetarget visual literacy training, and chose the visual literacy training content. This articlecombining with specialized courses characteristics detailed description of the training topicsspecifically. Based on three basic visual skills and the three basic elements of visual literacy, Idesigned three topics and the specific implementation of the two thematic teaching activities.Finally through class exercises and questionnaires, it analyzed the effect of teaching activitiesand improved the thematic design.Studies show that the combination "Computer Graphic Design" course for visual literacytraining is effective. Meanwhile, the focus of college students’ visual literacy training is toenhance the basic elements of visual perception, understanding and application ability.Successfully carried out the premise of teaching is to develop specific training objectives andinstructional content design, conduct appropriate teaching activities. Then achieve additional modifications through feedback results of practice training program. This is a guarantee ofsuccess visual literacy training.
