With the innovation of the science and technology, the development of the communications industry, free communication has become an increasing demand in people’s daily life, and the scale of Network is expanding. WLAN is short for wireless local area network. It’s widely used as an important part of the Network due to its higher rate, flexibility and mobility, easy to install and to plan and inexpensive cost. Along with the gradual development of WLAN technology, the large-scale commercial deployment has become the trend of network developing, and the WLAN architecture has changed from distributed network to the centralized network. In second generation, centralized WLAN architecture, access controller is in charge of the management of the access point and the users and process of user data, which can solve the problem that Management inconvenient. It is difficult to maintain during a long time working and high user data stream, which exists in the distributed network environment. Therefore, the reliability of the access controller is the key to the development of the entire network.Firstly, This thesis analyzes the WLAN overall network development, as well as the defects encountered in the current network of WLAN equipment, especially for the application of reliability; Secondly, it is proposed a real-time high-reliability strategy, through in-depth learning universal device backup method as well as VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol), CAPWAP (Control And Provisioning of Wireless Access Points Protocol Specification) protocol. When exception occurs in the multiple access controllers in use of the strategy, the system is capable of fast recovery, real-time high-speed synchronous backup data and does not result in access point offline and online experience, so as to solve the problem of insufficient reliability. According to the strategy, the framework is proposed as well as the detailed design process, then it is applied on the access controller. Finally, it is validated by the stability and reliability testing of real-time high-reliability, which is able to meet the high reliability requirements of enterprise-class.
