The continuous plate dryer is a new conduction type enclosed drying equipment. The drying tray, core component, has unreasonable structure and large deformation problems. Therefore, in order to reduce its deformation, the study is started form the structure optimization, stamping sequence optimization, stamping dies and stamping tooling improvements.First, the existing structure of drying tray was calculated by ANSYS finite element analysis software to find out its problems. Then, a new structure of drying tray was proposed which punched holes were arranged circumferentially. The results show that the new structure can bear high pressure and there is no stress concentration at the edges of new drying tray.The stamping sequence of punching plate was optimized by Deform-3D simulation software since the stamping deformation of punching plate is excessive. Regional symmetrical stamping simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.In order to reduce the deformation of individual punched hole in the punching plate of during tray, the prior compound stamping dies were improved. Polyurethane was used as the material of clamp. The stamping deformation of punching plate reduces form 134 mm to 85 mm.The amount of deformation is reduced by 30% above.Finally, in order to solve the problems that stamping deformation increase caused by the lack of restraint in the stamping punching plate, The punching plate was constrained by the upper and lower fastening device. It increases the overall stiffness of punching plate. The actual deformation reduce 10 mm compared the one of existing tooling.
