Chemical experiment teaching aims to deepen the understanding for fundamental theory and train the students’ practical ability, research ability and analysis ability of solving practical engineering problems based on unit operation process. However, the complex experiment process, the non-removable device causes difficulties in achieving good teaching effect. The development of virtual reality provides experimental teaching with new thoughts. The use of virtual reality can develop virtual experiment environment with very high simulation, which is very popular by virtual of its good interaction, handleability and cheapness and has already been applied in various experimental teaching.Chemical experiment simulation system mainly focus on using Visual Studio and Visual Basic as the main data processing system based on Windows platform, which uses the similar physical model and mathematical model to mimic the whole experiment process. The system is based on computer desktop system to realize man-machine interaction; its simulation experiment equipment is only schematic drawing, photo; the simulation experiment is a single operation training. This paper analyzes the characteristics of plate and frame filter experiments of chemical engineering experiment combined with Unity3D software technology and chemical unit operation principle to develop desktop virtual reality experimental system. The auxiliary experiment teaching and autonomous learning are regarded as the development goal. First of all, the function framework of system development were established according to prone to filter experimental teaching purpose and the problems in the teaching process, then the method of model using Solid Works and 3ds Max were established according to advantages and disadvantages of device model at 1:1 ratio and the animation were completed. The Unity3D technology was used to complete the development of the key functional modules of the system.In the process of system development, the real fluid flow and filtration device unit response relationship were studied in the process of simulation, a simple and effective flow morphology and the response relationship were established. The fluid flow visualization simulation accords with the actual rules of chemical process of fluid flow were realized and the simulation effect was finished.The characteristics of virtual experimental system lie in the initial establishment of the integrated management system of Chemical Laboratory of experimental teaching system based on virtual reality and the realization of the preview before the experiment, main parts virtual assembly and virtual interactive training function in experiment process. The good interactive function of the software, simplicity in operation, and the providing collaborative experimental mode.
