Piano is known as "The King of Instruments", after 600 years of history, it’s already part of our life. In concert, in class room, in our home, it’s everywhere. Piano is different than others, you can’t repair the piano after it has issue, piano must be tuned before you can even start to use it. A well-conditioned piano can be played by user with high proficiency so as to fully reflect the charm of music composition, playing the piano that is out of tune for long time can not only reduce service life of piano but also result in some misunderstanding auditorily, to keep piano tuned is the best way to ensure the quality of piano. As more and more people owns piano, piano tuning becomes more important. The traditional piano tuning are done by human, the accurate are based on human ear and experience, there would be a larger error of piano intonation if examine piano through those methods like twelve-tone equal temperament, unison and octave tuning methods. Under that situation, the accuracy of the piano tuning is heavy depends on the person. Within the increased request of high quality tuning, that motivated us to research and design a product, that would use as the reference for absolute pitch---piano tuning machine, it can assist tuner to attune piano and offer scientific and accurate reference materials in the course of attunement.This thesis is based on the physics of sound, implanted a way to process audio signal by using frame and spectrum. By converting analog audio source into digital, build algorithms model, in order to complete audio frequency collection and verify. Then using computer to virtualize the result to assistant tuner to finish the tuning. This paper is written to realize sampling and amplification of the music of piano through piano’s hardware,then give a analysis to musical tone in frequency and time domain by Dsp chip, denoise the sample music and measure its frequency so as to complete the quantitative analysis in musical tone.Showing the result through comparing with International standard fundamental frequency to help tuner to finish the piano tuning work.The algorithms used in this thesis will accurately sampling the audio source, that would resolve the issue of standardized audio source. The algorithms used in this article are not limited to piano only, these can also use on other instruments. This would open the door for general audio toning.
